This Ball Made out of ABS plastic . We do not apply any coating for traction like similar products. This ball mount is designed with large layers so there are small ribs to provide traction and stability. Although it does hold well, boat rides can be rough. If you need to add traction, we suggest a very light spray of Flex Seal Clear Liquid Rubber spray or a similar product. 
 
Note: The Garbage Holder is manufactured by 3D printing. You can see in the photo's there will be slight variances in appearances and visable layer lines.
